Judy Hoogewerf

Judy Hoogewerf has been drawn to creativity from an early age, always finding joy in making things with her hands. Even as a child, she carried simple art supplies wherever she went, turning any place into an opportunity to create.

Her journey into painting began just four years ago when she joined a church art group, Create with Christ. There, she was introduced to watercolor and acrylic painting—mediums she quickly fell in love with. Since then, Judy has continued to grow as an artist, also exploring and embracing mixed media as a meaningful form of expression.

Before fully stepping into her own artistic practice, Judy spent many years as a homeschooling mother and art teacher, leading preschool and elementary-aged students in creative exploration through a homeschool co-op. Her teaching emphasized experimentation with a wide range of materials, fostering both creativity and confidence in young artists.

Beyond the visual arts, Judy enjoys other creative outlets, including singing and playing the guitar and piano. She has also served as a worship singer, blending her love of music with her faith.

Judy is a devoted wife and mother to a high school baseball player, and she rarely misses a game. Deeply rooted in her faith, she values time with family and friends and seeks to reflect those priorities through both her life and her art.
