Ica Lacy

Ica Lacy grew up in Germany to Italian parents, surrounded by a culture that appreciated beauty, creativity, and craftsmanship. Her love for art began early during her school years, where she was introduced to the history of artists, artistic styles, color theory, and watercolor painting. Although she explored many forms of art, she was never exposed to ceramics at the time—something she would later discover was a true passion.

Even in those early years, the idea of ceramics fascinated her: the ability to transform a simple lump of clay into something beautiful and functional through shaping, glazing, and firing felt almost magical. Still, life led her down other paths for many years.

After running a very demanding and stressful business, Ica decided to finally follow the creative dream she had carried with her for so long. Five years ago, she enrolled in her first wheel-throwing class. From the moment she sat at the wheel, she knew there was no turning back—she had fallen completely in love with ceramics.

Eager to grow, she attended as many classes as possible, learning different techniques and continually expanding her skills. Creating quickly became the place where she felt most at peace and most herself.

Throughout her life, Ica has always expressed her creativity in many forms—from window decorating and floral design to calligraphy, wedding décor, and Christmas home styling. But ceramics has become the medium that allows her to fully pour her heart into every piece she makes.

Today, her work reflects joy, intention, and a deep love for the creative process. Each piece she creates carries a part of that happiness with it, and she hopes that when someone takes one of her works home, they feel the same warmth and joy that went into making it.
