Addy White
Addy White is a Memphis-based artist and former elementary art teacher who spent eight years fostering creativity and curiosity in young students. After nearly a decade in the classroom, she made the decision to step away from teaching to pursue her own artistic practice and spend more time with her husband, Brett, and their young daughter, Rosie.
Working primarily in acrylic, Addy is drawn to the expressive possibilities of paint, with a particular focus on capturing light, shadow, and color relationships. Her work often explores imagery from the natural world, where she finds endless inspiration in shifting light, organic forms, and the quiet beauty of everyday landscapes.
With a background in art education, Addy brings both technical skill and a deep appreciation for process into her work. Her paintings reflect a balance of observation and intuition, inviting viewers to slow down and notice the richness of color and atmosphere that exists all around them.
For Addy, painting is more than a creative practice—it is a way of delighting in God and His creation. Through her work, she seeks to remain present, to notice the beauty in what might otherwise be overlooked, and to savor the gifts of each day. Painting becomes both an act of attention and a return—a quiet rhythm of gratitude.
