Jennifer Krohn

Jennifer Krohn is the creator of Limestone & Soda and a kiln-formed glass artist whose work is inspired by her love of nature, the sea, and the vibrant colors of Florida's Emerald Coast. She discovered the art of glass fusing more than 12 years ago and has been dedicated to the craft ever since.

Jennifer's creative process combines a wide variety of glass materials, including murrini (small glass flower designs), frit (crushed glass), and other glass components that she carefully sources or creates herself. She cuts sheet glass using specialized tools, thoughtfully layering and assembling each element to build her designs. Fine details are often added with glass enamels before each piece is fired in a kiln at temperatures between 1,200 and 1,500 degrees for 10 to 15 hours. Many of her creations return to the kiln two or three times—or more—before they are complete.

Raised among the islands of Washington State's Puget Sound, Jennifer developed a deep appreciation for the natural world, especially the sea and the diverse life it supports. After relocating to Florida's Gulf Coast, she found endless inspiration in the area's brilliant turquoise waters, coastal wildlife, and breathtaking scenery, all of which continue to influence her work.

Jennifer especially enjoys the creative possibilities that kiln-formed glass offers through layering, shaping molds, and the interplay of opaque and transparent glass. These techniques allow her to create dimensional pieces that capture the movement, light, and color found in nature.

“I hope you enjoy my work! May your day be filled with sunshine, happiness, and sand between your toes.” — Jennifer
